These Demand Constellations seem like they could be a useful and relatively simple tool when working with students, as well as with our colleagues....The kind of thing we could apply easily to our work.

I agree Beth. We as interpreters do this often - we take everything into consideration before we make a decision.

Reading more of it makes sense to our work because the phrase "it depends" is such a huge part of our work. We can not (usually) answer a question by other interpreters without knowing the what surrounds the situation. Such as this diagram shows : Attachments:

When I look back at different real life situations - our decision making process is sometimes a split second. It amazes me what we do on a daily basis constantly evaluating and making decisions based on different outcomes that could possibly happen.
